Across 5 days, Makerversity will deep dive into the design and creative industries with experts from our community. The week will include hands-on practical sessions, serving as a starting point into the design industries and diverse career paths.
Led by industry professionals, attendees will be learning the full design process with hands-on skills to join the industry from idea to prototype; collaboration, production, presenting, financing and portfolio building.
Each day will finish with an item to take home spending the day with a different designer maker looking at all aspects of design, from craft to human-centric product design. The final day will explore next steps to continue the experience in our photography studio, including professional headshots, portfolio building and next steps to join the creative industries through residencies, mentorship opportunities and how to apply to grants.

By providing professional facilities from the Materials Lab, Robotics Lab, Engineering, Fashion, Photography, Woodwork and Digital Making workshops - a combination of facilities that continues to make Makerversity the best place in the UK to develop a pioneering physical project, design or hardware business.
Across 5 days you will deep dive into all aspects of the Design Industries. Led by industry professionals, you will be learning the full design process from idea to brand; prototyping; making; marketing; productions; financing and portfolio building.
You will taught by our residents Shanti Bell, Rickie Cheuk, Antoinette Yetunde Oni and Andy Lee
Through hands-on workshops they will be exploring with you the pillars of Design Making, from community & human-centric design, challenging traditional structures of authority and expected norms to the beauty ofmaking with craft.
This opportunity is for 18-30 year olds based or from City of Westminster.
It is also important that you can attend all 5 days of the residency.
One of the unique benefits of completing the course with Makerversity is that you are able to feel like you are a part of the community, and mingle with professionals that work in the building. You see first-hand how these professionals work, how they started their career path, where entry-level opportunities in the sector might be, and learn how to use some of Makerversity's exciting equipment in a fun, supported space. Work experience and mentoring opportunities will be offered for pathways after completion.
We are looking for motivated individuals with passion and creative flair. We are on a mission to nurture potential, at any stage of development. No prior experience is required, but a positive approach and willingness to learn is important!
The 5 day week is free of charge to participants.
Travel expenses will be covered and lunch will be provided each day.
Makerversity, which is in the basement of Somerset House in Central London.
