Makerversity launches a new set of civic hacks to address the big societal issues of our time. Through fostering collaboration between makers and the public we aim to investigate the role that design can play in creating clever and radical solutions to the problems facing our modern world.
The second event in our series explores how we can Hack Climate Change.
Our public hack will focus on air pollution. Clean air is a human right. In 2018 London breached it’s annual pollution limit in the first month and is the greatest health problem facing cities. Until radical systematic changes have been made we need to look at how we can design tools to protect ourselves against the harmful effects of air pollution. We will run a 2 day hack looking at tackling air pollution using our community of designers, makers and technologists.
This exhibition will showcase the results of the two day hack addressing different avenues to combating climate change, from behavioural change, mitigating current affects and looking at positive reward systems.
