Join us for a Halloween prosthetics workshop! Create scarily realistic prosthetics for your Halloween costume using latex and silicone… Come with a costume in mind, any supply you might have already (make-up, fabrics…) or join in for inspiration! This workshop is a simple introduction to using latex and silicone in model casting. It aims to offer creative and fun hands-on crafting for all participants. No previous experience needed, come as you are! You can reproduce these simple methods at home after the workshop on your own time.

About the workshop organiser:

Noémie Soula is a London-based design-researcher. She has recently graduated from MA Material Futures, Central Saint Martins, UAL. Engaging with bioethics and social issues, her work focuses on exploring emerging biotechnologies. How will these issues affect our life and our perceptions around being human? This workshop will fund Noémie Soula’s exhibition in Venice for her project RAW/ à vif.

About RAW/à vif

New technologies such as tissue engineering are changing the face of medicine. They challenge our current bioethics statements, pushing limits and seeking to improve humankind. What does it mean to design a human body? How will emerging biotechnologies influence how we define humankind? What will the consequences of those practices be?

Raw/ à vif or the unnatural desire to design a human explores where the transhuman meets biology. It will introduce its audience to potential futures challenging our definition of “human”.

Visit Noémie’s Instagram or her GoFundMe page to find out more about the project!
