Makerversity Presents: Make Your Own Masters
Creative Self-Learning & Design Debate
14th June, 7pm-8.30pm, Room G16, New Wing, Somerset House
£8 full price/£5 for students
Stacie Woolsey’s DIY Masters design curriculum, Make Your Own Mastersfocuses on the overlap between making and science. Through the project’s process and outcomes, Stacie proposes a radical alternative to post-graduate education, centred around practical experience, network building and experimentation.
Self-learning is a way to explore how learning can become more democratised and accessible as well as its collaborative potential outside of a higher education setting. Exploring various experiences in self-learning in design, join us in a debate chaired by Seetal Solanki (Me-tt-le Studio), with Stacie Woolsey (Make Your Own Masters), Natsai Audrey Chieza (Faber Futures), Helen Tartaglia (Goldsmiths University) and Sam Davies (head of employment at Innocent Drinks).
The “Makerversity Presents” series showcases the best our community has to offer, with our members constantly redefining the future of creative maker practices. From sustainability to social change, their projects question not only how we make, but why.
